Lightboard

Intro

Before my 1st participation in the Olympiads I used to think that programming is all about simple I/O like Arduino, I had no idea about Big(O), Sorting Algo, Graphs..., I got disqualified obviously right after but it was a big plot in my life and I've learned a lot and ranked 12th nationally in the following year.

During Covid I had lot of free time and I decided to contribute back to the community and help Moroccan students get better at CS in an interractive way.

Content: I made 12 videos about 25~48min long each, (videos aren't in English :/) tho:

Lec 2: Scratch/Compiled vs Interpred lang.

Lec 3: Data Types & Casting & Operations.

Lec 4: Conditions & Loops & Functions.

Lec 5: Libraries & Compiling & Debug.

Lec 6: Arrays & Strings & Encryption.

Lec 7: Selection Sort vs Bubble sort.

Lec 8: Count vs Merge Sort & Recursion.

Lec 9: Hexadecimal & Pointers & Strings.

Lec 10: Swap with Value vs Reference.

Lec 11: Linked-List: Add + Search + Delete.

Lec 12: Hash-Tables & Trees & Tries.

Testing

The main idea of Lighboard is: Light go trough the glass the make reflection on neon markers.

Before building anything I tried it on a smallp Acrylic sheetand it worked fine!

Dimensions: 3ft*6ft*15/64″ / 91cm*183cm*0.6cm

Lights

The LED stripe is alligned against the thickiness of the plexiGlass in a way to enable to light to go trough the sheet.

Added light bulbs for facial light

Added the black fabric to kill Background reflection.

The colors can be changed if we changed the light of LED while keeping the same content on the board.

Making videos

Camera: HUAWEI P30 Pro, its camera its just amazing.

Camera app: The pro mode in the integrated app.

Audio: This one is tricky as the phone is far away + there is a glass seperating me and the phone, I was using a LavMicro I was recording on an external device and in the editing I sycronize the voice and with video (I do a clap when I start recording as an indice).

Orgnazing ideas and try to fit the content on the lightboard screen.

And NO, IM NOT WRITING IN REVERSE, lol I keep getting that question, I just use Adobe premier to flip the content horizentally.

As the video and the sound are rcorded separtely, I clap in the beggining to create a sharpe shape then I match it with the clap in the video.
